This stadium, the world's first multi-purpose domed sports stadium, became known as the Houston Astrodome. It originally had natural grass, but when the grass died the newly-created Astroturf was installed. Construction on the stadium began in 1962, and it officially opened in 1965. It was the home of baseball's Houston Astros until 1999. The team, originally the Houston Colt 45s, changed its name to Astros in '65. It was the home of the NFL's Houston Oilers from 1968-1996. Many other special events were held in what some called "The Eighth Wonder of the World."
Condition: Unposted, no creases, light stain, very light corner wear.
